Your assignment is to think of a problem in our world that is caused by chemistry or for which chemistry could be or is a viable solution. Come prepared to describe the problem, and to discuss possible solutions. These may be actual solutions that are being used right now, or they might be something that hasn't been invented yet. Problems should be real, and solutions should be grounded in real chemistry. In addition, be prepared to discuss the pros and cons for the possible solutions (i.e. a chemical might clean up an oil spill, but then it might create a toxic by-product). You will present your findings during the last few weeks of class.
